Faith in Seizing the Moment

When it comes to living out our days, we can sometimes feel like we’ve lost everything. We may find ourselves in a place that feels like Moab—a place of uncertainty, where hope seems distant. But as a modern-day Ruth, you are called to so much more than what your eyes can see in this moment.

This month, God is calling His daughters to truly live—to live by faith. Even when we don’t know how things will come together, we can trust the One who holds the narrative of our lives.

Life can crash over us like a wave, but just like Ruth, we can choose to seize the day—not in despair, but in hope. She took steps of faith, even when she couldn’t see where they would lead. And those steps brought her into a new beginning, granting her a place in the very lineage of Jesus. Ruth was a woman who chose righteousness over regret, leaving her past behind to walk into God’s promises.

I often wonder—am I building a legacy of faith or fear? Each day presents a choice, and how I seize it is shaped by the decisions I’ve already made.

The good news is that each new day doesn’t have to be defined by past struggles. God has already prepared a good life for you and me. As Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) says:

"For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]."

Are you building a legacy? The choices we make today don’t just impact our lives, but also those we influence.

Ruth didn’t know the full impact of her obedience, but her decision to follow God’s way led to a legacy that influenced generations beyond her own.

You don’t have to let your present circumstances (your Moab) define your future. God has great plans for you.

The question is—are you willing to move forward, physically or spiritually, to see what He has in store?

Prayer:

Father God, we come before You with open hearts and surrendered plans. Lead us in a way that allows us to influence others for Your glory. Help us not to make impulsive decisions but to faithfully seek Your guidance, trusting You to do Your part. Give Your daughter the faith to believe that each day is an opportunity to finish her race with joy, peace, and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
